The school currently employs thirteen
classroom teachers, seven SEN teachers and four
S.N.A.'s.
It
is a
co-educational school and children are taught in single class and
combined class
situation.
Belgooly is a village in Co.Cork, situated approximately
4.6kms
to the north-east of Kinsale and 19kms south of Cork city. To

Cian recently won U11 Player
of the Year for Kinsale Rugby Club - Well done Cian!
Ben
won 3rd place (bronze medal) for the 100m backcrawl, 3rd place for the
50m backcrawl and he came 1st (gold medal) in the 50m breaststroke at a
local swimming competition.
Ava,
Ms.Collins' class is the U.12 Long Jump County Champion!
Congratulations Ava.
 Eddie
and Evan entered the Redking Rumble Taekwon-do Championships 2014
on Sun.6th April, held in Little Island. Eddie came
second
in sparring and Evan came first in both sparring and patterns.
Well done boys!
Eoin,
6th class is pictured here with his medal for coming 2nd in the
All-Ireland Final U13 Boys 600m in Athlone on Sat. 22nd March.
 Patrick,
Senior Infants, came 1st in Feis Maitiú U7 Boys for his recitation of
his poem, Storm. Well done Patrick!
The
school is currently replenishing our stock of musical
instruments. In keeping with our recycling
policy, we are
appealing to parents who have any unwanted/ no-longer used percussion
instruments at home, to consider donating them to the school.
We do not need toy instruments. Good quality drums,
triangles, cymbals, tambourines would be greatly appreciated.
We have already received some beautiful bongo drums. We have
ordered some new instruments, but any good-quality second-hand
instruments are always welcome. Go raibh maith

Ms.Lynch's class, who won both the Fifth class and Overall prize for
her picture in the recent St Patrick’s Day Art Competition – Well
done to Emma and to
our other winners Christopher,
Eoghan, Eloise, Lily & Maria.
All
winning entries are on display in the
Tourist Information Office, Kinsale.

Championship 2014 Winners:
   
 There were many winners in this
competition,
held on 26th
January - Well done to Evan (2nd, sparring), Grace (1st, sparring),
D.J. (3rd, sparring and 2nd, patterns), Kate (3rd, patterns), Micheal
John (2nd, sparring), Faye (2nd, sparring and 1st, patterns), Cian
(2nd, sparring), Eddie (3rd, patterns), Evan (1st, sparring) and Roman
(1st, sparring & 3rd, patterns).
Ben, in Mr.Cotter's
class, recently
took home two bronze medals from the Munster Schools Swimming
Championships. He is now through to the
Irish Schools Swimming
Championships, where he will represent our school! Congratulations

Kelly,
in Ms.Lynch's fifth class,
was recently nominated to submit her story to the Coastal Short Story
Competition run by An Taisce. Their judges found that her
story,
"Not an Ordinary Day" was full
of fantasy and surprise - a sweet story of magic and
enchantment!

from Mr.Lane's class, recently won a nationwide colouring competition
run by Sam McCauley Chemists. She is pictured here with her mum:

himself and helped to construct this wonderful boat.
Thank you to
our Parents'
Association and all of our very supportive parents, for this beautiful
bouquet of flowers and the delicious party food supplied to all our
staff, on my last day in Scoil Muire ns nGrást. It has been a wonderful
experience teaching your children here for the past thirty years. Our
staff really enjoyed the scrumptious food. Míle buíochas from all of us
for your generosity:-).
